Relapse Prevention
Relapse prevention planning begins as soon as the patient enters our program. While some programs and authors claim that “relapse is part of recovery;” we believe that a rich, lasting, and continuous recovery is obtainable for most patients. However, this requires the appropriate treatment, a caring, knowledgeable clinical team, and motivation on part of the patient. If relapse does occur, we lovingly meet with the patient and family (if applicable) to re-assess the treatment plan and either adjust the current treatment plan to better meet the patient’s needs or refer the patient out to a higher level of care.
Patients will have the opportunity to attend relapse prevention groups, read and process Relapse Prevention material, and work with their primary therapist to develop a comprehensive relapse prevention plan that is thought to be the best route for that particular patient to be successful in their recovery.
